Fitness
Adapted Yoga
This yoga class is specifically for adults with disabilities and will include sound therapy (chanting), eye exercises, breathing exercises, body postures, deep relaxation, and affirmation. Participants, guardians and/or caregivers can also benefit from these home practice techniques that can improve body awareness, physical and emotional well-being, and mental focus. The instructor is certified as a yoga therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists, http://www.iayt.org/, and is able to accommodate a range of different ages and disabilities. The instructor will be available for short individual consultations before or after class. A guardian or caregiver is included in the cost of the class and is welcome to attend, please let staff know prior to the first class if you would like to consistently attend.

Adapted Dance Aerobics
Dance and exercise in this new cardio class that caters to adults with disabilities. This unique adapted fitness class combines hip hop, ballet, Latin and Afro-Brazilian moves. It will keep you on your toes from beginning to the end, increasing endurance and conditioning the heart.

Fun & Fitness
Fitness and wellness come together in this program for adults with disabilities. Each month we will learn a different sport or try a new fitness class, do a simple healthy cooking activity, and participate in a game or craft focused on wellness. Sign up for one or all events!

Aquatics
Teen/Adult Splash – Adapted
Teens and adults with disabilities will have fun and develop water skills through group work and individual attention while playing and learning elementary aquatic skills. The class focuses on water safety, breath control, pulling, kicking, and adjustment skills. The ratio of staff/volunteer to swimmer is between 1:1 and 1:2.

Arts & Crafts
Arts and Crafts Beginners
In this fun and exciting program, individuals with disabilities will experiment with various materials and mediums to create beautiful and dynamic works of art. Different art techniques will be explored such as papermaking, brush painting, collage and using recycled materials, presented through theme-based projects. This program offers an opportunity to use unconventional art materials in a new way and allow creativity to shine!

Arts and Crafts Advanced
Individuals with disabilities will look at various styles of art with a critical eye and create works of art based on techniques used by the masters. Intended for those who took the Adult Arts and Crafts class and are ready for more intensive work. Artists will begin to hone and refine their personal style while exploring various materials and new mediums. This class for individuals with disabilities that can work independently with minimum support or prompts. Those who are at the beginner level should take the beginner class. (Fall & Winter ONLY)
