Location: All sessions are held at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center, 3501 2nd St. S.
Team Placement: Teams are put together by school. We do not allow special requests for this league as all players play at the same location and times each week. Priority to play on team with schoolmates or with the previous year’s team is given to those who register before the late registration.
Volunteer Coaches: Each team is assigned between 2-4 volunteer coaches. The more coaches per team the better the ratio of participant to volunteer and enhances the overall participant experience. Volunteer Coaches Register here. Information for 2017-18 coaches here: SMBL Practice Plan Tips

The last four weeks teams will meet at the SAME time as they do on December 22nd and January 12th. See above. These dates will be guided games; The games are not scored and the coaches act as informal referees to help participants learn and understand the game play, rules and violations of the game.
In case of inclement weather the program will be cancelled if it is deemed unsafe to travel to the location. You may call 703-228-4715 or click here for more information. Staff will communicate make-ups as needed based on weather.
No practices/games on December 29th or January 19th:
Due to holidays or gym closures we will not hold practices/games on these dates. For the basketball grades 1-2 we need as many volunteers as we can and holding this program on holidays makes it hard to ensure the right amount of volunteer coverage for the program.
As of now February 2nd is being held as a makeup date for a track meet scheduled to take place on January 19th. If the track meet does take place on January19th we will hold a guided game on February 2nd. This Would result in the guided game on February 9th being the 8th and final class.
Make Up Dates:
Make up date will be February 16th (President’s Day Weekend) if needed.
