Arlington County aims to provide a safe environment where individuals and families can relax and be who they are. We strive to make our events and facilities welcoming and accessible to everyone. In honor of National Therapeutic Recreation Month the Office of Youth and Family Programs and the Therapeutic Recreation Office invites all families to a sensory friendly movie night!
-Bring pillows, a blanket, and cozy up for a family movie night
-Watch a series of Pixar Short Films together as a family
-Take a break from the movie experience at our craft station where you will create a collaborative community art project
-Popcorn will be available for purchase at the event: $1 per bag, cash only
Modifications for this event include:
-Guests may get up, move around, cheer, clap, or otherwise engage with the movie presentation.
-Guests may also bring fidgets or other small, quiet items that may allow them to feel more comfortable.
-Guests may take a break from the film experience at any time. A craft station and quiet soft play room will be available during the program.
-Check out our social story online or in person at the event.
-Family movie night event maps will be available online and on-site
