This Spring Break program is a technical, skill-based cooking class for families. You and your family will learn various cooking skills, technical recipes & foundational cooking techniques. During this class you will be able to make and taste the following recipes together:
During this class, you will also learn the following cooking techniques:
- Balancing flavor profiles
- The importance of using seasonal and local produce
- The role of leavening agents in bread-making
- How to clean, prepare, and serve artichokes
Registration for this program begins Tuesday, February 13. Register online or by phone at 703-228-4747 using Activity Number 730028! Cost: $15 per person. Children must register with an adult, adults may supervise up to 2 children. This program is open to ages 8 & up.
*Please arrive on time. Family Master Chefs focuses heavily on technical elements of cooking and is designed for participants to be cooking during the entirety of the program. To reduce food waste, we will utilize all perishable ingredients during the class time. If you arrive more than 15 minutes after the start of the program, we cannot guarantee that supplies and/or instruction will be provided to you for recipes that have been completed in your absence.
This program is designed for participants to learn separate components of a three-course meal: Day 1 Appetizers, Day 2 Entrée, and Day 3 Desserts. Families can pick and choose which classes they would like to attend, or come to all three to strengthen and expand cooking skills while creating their very own inspiring 3-course meal together.
