Enjoy Arlington!, 55+ Guide and Nature Center Programs
Refunds must be requested in-person or over the phone through the DPR Registration Office at 703-228-4747 or through the appropriate Program Office.
Full refunds for DPR programs will be made within 5 business days of cancellation when canceled by DPR due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen reasons, or upon request when schedule or location changes made by DPR prohibit or limit your attendance. These refunds may be retained as a household credit; however, the account guardian can call the Registration Office to obtain a refund via credit card or check.
In order to receive a refund, customers must cancel within 48 hours after the first class. All refunds due to customer cancellation are subject to a $20 service charge, even if the refund remains as a household credit. No refunds or credits will be given after this deadline, or if a customer is unable to attend a one-session program, class, or workshop. No refunds are given for programs costing less than $20.
In cases where the program fee includes the price of a ticket or other fees paid by DPR to a third party, such fees will be refunded to you to the extent that DPR is able to get a refund from the third party or is able to enroll another participant.
Refunds for medical reasons must be accompanied by a physician’s note and shall be considered on a case by case basis.
Refunds may be retained as household credits to be used towards registration in future DPR programs, credit card charges may be refunded directly to the credit card, or by check. Refunds will be processed within 30 days of the request, and need to be used within one year.
Missing the first class: If there is a potential that the class level may not be adequate for a participant, you are strongly encouraged not to miss the first class so that you may cancel or transfer into the appropriate level class within the 48 hour cancelation period outlined above.
Cancellations due to weather related conditions: If a session is cancelled due to weather, the class may be extended to honor the original number of sessions. In the case that an extension of the class is not possible, refunds in the form of household credits will be made at the end of the season. The account guardian may call the Registration Office to obtain a refund via credit card or check.
Therapeutic Recreation: Adult Going Places and Young Adults Going Places
If you need to cancel your reservation for the meeting/trip, you must call the TR Office (703-228-4740) 48 hours before the meeting/trip. If the space can be filled, you will be given a credit on your account. Sorry, no refunds! If the reserved space cannot be filled, you will still be responsible for the fee.
If you make a reservation and DO NOT SHOW UP NOR NOTIFY STAFF for 2 meetings/trips, you will lose the privilege to make trip reservations for one month.
If a meeting/trip is cancelled, a message will be put on the answering machine for the TR Office two hours prior to the start time.
All summer camp registration changes/cancellations are processed by the Registration Office (not camp staff) in-person or over the phone at, 703-228-4747. Any changes to camper registrations, including cancellation, must be made by 5pm the Monday prior to the start date of camp. No refunds will be issued for cancellations after 5pm this time. All refunds for summer camp are subject to a $20 service charge per participant per camp session. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to cancel if the camper will not attend. Fees are based on registration for the camp session, not daily attendance.
Creative Preschool and Kids in Action (after school)
It is the parent’s responsibility to cancel the program and fees will be charged until the program is cancelled. To cancel, simply email the Registration Office at firstname.lastname@example.org or mail a cancellation notice to 3700 South Four Mile Run, Arlington, VA 22206. All cancellations must be made in writing, two weeks in advance and are subject to a $50 administrative fee. Cost per day is a prorated amount based on the number of days of service. Please note that all cancelations must be processed only by registration staff, not through the program staff (teachers or directors).
Aerials Team Gymnastics
Payments are made on a monthly basis for the month of team participation. If a team-member quits the team, it is the responsibility of the parent to confirm this cancellation of participation with the program coordinator, Carly Meyer (703-228-0707). If the team member quits before the 15th day of the month, half of that month’s paid fees will be refunded to the household.
Arlington Aquatics Club (AAC)
Payments are made on a monthly basis for the month of team participation. If a team-member quits the team, it is the responsibility of the parent to confirm this cancellation of participation with the program coordinator, Evan Stiles (703-228-0707).
Refunds must be requested through the appropriate Program Office. For fitness passes, contact Michael Villani at, 703-228-5933.

For monthly programs that cost more than $20, a prorated refund will be issued for unused months, effective the month after the date of cancellation request. No refunds are given for programs costing less than $20. Refunds may be retained as household credits and used towards registration in future DPR programs. To request a refund for 55+ trips, please call 703-228-4748 (voicemail) and leave a detailed message. No refunds are granted on any trips that require meal reservations, tickets or chartered transportation unless staff is able to sell your reserved space. No refunds within 48 hours of trip departure time.
Cancellation of a reservation must be reported at least 72 hours in advance of the use date to the centralized scheduling office. A $20 administration fee will be deducted from all refunds. No refund will be allowed if cancellation is not received at least 72 hours in advance of the facility use. In the event of inclement weather or circumstances beyond control leading to a DPR decision to cancel, a full refund will be provided without an administrative fee.
TEAM Amusement Rentals for Events
Cancellation requests can only be made through the facility scheduling office (703-228-1805) up until the Tuesday before the event date. All cancellations will be subject to a $20 administrative fee. No refunds after the established deadline.
TEAM reserves the right to refuse to complete any event that has the potential to cause damage to its equipment or may pose undue risk to others in the immediate area, or if the weather conditions are not appropriate. When this happens, a full refund will be issued.
Gulf Branch Nature Center parties are not refundable. These parties are managed by the friends of Gulf Branch Nature Center and the event coordinator can be reached at email@example.com.
Long Branch Nature Center and Artful parties’ cancellation requests should be submitted at least 6 business days in advance, and are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. There are no refunds if the cancellation occurs after that deadline. For more information on Artful birthday parties, please call 703-228-5918 or 703-228-6492. A scheduled class may fall on a religious holiday. In an effort to respect the community we serve, class participants may make-up a class session that will be missed due to conflicts with their religious holidays, provided another class is available with space. Participants needing such accommodation must inform the registration office at (703) 228-4747 prior to the first day of the class.
