Arlington Parks and Recreation sustained considerable damage in July’s storm. Here is the status of our repair work.
- All of the picnic shelters, volleyball courts and playgrounds are open.
- DPR is currently finishing up GlenCarlyn Park with the restroom floor tile/wall only left to complete. After Glencarlyn Park the contractor will move to Lubber Run Park. The restrooms at Bon Air remain closed indefinitely.
- County contractors have removed bridges that were destroyed by the storm, including the bridges at 38th St. N. and N. Chesterfield Street, Bon Air, Glencarlyn and Gulf Branch. Lubber Run will follow. All bridges and fords damaged in the storm are being assessed for safety and next steps.
- Repairs have been completed on the underpass at Wilson Blvd. on the W&OD Trail.
