Johnny “John” Logan is the manager of operations at the Culinary Arts Center, Prince George’s Community College. As a manager of operations, he is responsible for facilities, purchasing, information systems, accounting, budgets and food service. Prior to joining Prince George’s Community College, John served as the Director of Culinary Arts the Art Institute of Washington. In addition, John also served as an adjunct culinary instructor at the Art Institute of Washington for over fifteen (15) years.
John Logan received his B. A. from Park College and his M.B.A. from Golden Gate University. He is a doctoral candidate at Argosy University, Washington, D. C. campus. He also is a culinary graduate of the Art Institute of Washington. After completing his dissertation, he will graduate with a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), with a focus in Marketing. He anticipates graduating in December 2018.
John is a member of several professional and student organizations including the American Culinary Federation (ACF), Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Black M.B.A. Association, Washington, D. C. Chapter and Chairman, Food & Beverage Club, at the Art Institute of Washington (Student Organization). He is also a Certified Culinary Educator (CCE).
Outside of academics, John is very involved with community activities. He serves on the Steward Board at Lomax A. M. E. Zion church. He volunteers his culinary experience at the local community center in Arlington, Va. In addition to these major activities, John Logan mentors high school students, represents AiW culinary program to prospective students during open houses. John enjoys outside activities including biking, racquet ball and walking. He enjoys reading, playing the sax and watching black and white movies. He enjoys listening to jazz, particularly John Coltrane and Billie Holiday.
