After careful consideration, Department of Parks and Recreation has determined that a farmers’ market is an appropriate use of the open space adjacent to the Fairlington Community Center. The site’s location, characteristics, context of the surrounding neighborhood, circulation and parking access favorably support a farmers’ market use. Details of these and other factors, including the community engagement input process are provided in the report.
The Arlington County Zoning Office received a Special Exception Use Permit application from Field to Table, which is under review. The use permit review process, which includes public comment, will identify potential impacts of the specific proposal and determine if impacts on adjacent neighborhoods can be minimized.
