Bring your friends and loved ones to join in the effort to “Take Back the Trees” – saving a section of forest being overrun by English Ivy and Bush Honeysuckle! (Part of this land behind the Caboose in Bluemont Park was worked on by Arlington County staff and AmeriCorps volunteers two years ago but most was untreated.)
County Landscape Specialist Sarah Archer, Master Naturalists Alison Sheahan and Ann Ulmschneider, and YOU will make a first defense of the beautiful stretch along the old railroad access path with a work party on Saturday, February 14, 9-11 a.m.
We meet at the Caboose, rain or shine. Bring pruners, loppers, hand saws and gloves if you have them. Wear long pants and sleeves, especially if you know you’re sensitive to poison ivy. Individuals 12 and up (or ages 9-11 with parent) will be heartily welcomed!
